During the peak of remote work, I created “From Fatigue to Focus: Master the Art of Meeting Well” a short, company-wide eLearning module designed to address meeting fatigue and inefficiency. Built in Captivate and delivered through the company LMS, the training taught best practices for Zoom meetings, time management, and asynchronous communication. The idea was that if you wanted to schedule a meeting, you had to put in the work upfront to ensure its success. This helped employees prioritize whether the meeting was necessary or if the goal could be achieved another way. Within six months, the initiative reduced internal meeting volume by 15%, freed up focus time, and improved cross-team productivity—later becoming a standard part of onboarding to foster sustainable remote work habits.
During the height of remote work, meetings were being overscheduled because of how easily accessible they were via Zoom. This led to meeting fatigue, with employees feeling overwhelmed and distracted, resulting in less time to complete their actual work. Many meetings were ineffective, lacking clear purpose or structure, which further contributed to frustration and reduced productivity across teams.
To address this, I designed a short, company-wide eLearning module titled “From Fatigue to Focus: Master the Art of Meeting Well” developed in Articulate and delivered via the company LMS. The module provided best practices for scheduling and attending Zoom meetings, using video animations, real-world examples, and interactive decision-making scenarios to promote effective time management, asynchronous communication, and calendar tool usage.
Within six months of rollout, the program reduced internal meeting volume by 15%, freed up valuable focus time, and boosted cross-team productivity. Due to its success, the module was integrated into onboarding to encourage healthier remote work habits organization-wide.
